George B. Butts is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in civil trial law. He was previously certified in personal injury trial law for thirty five years. In his extensive trial practice, Mr. Butts has tried cases involving allegations of negligent and intentional torts, breach of contract, violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, the Insurance Code, breach of warranty, fraud, legal and medical malpractice, disputes regarding the ownership of commercial properties, products liability, mass toxic torts, premise liability, building construction, highway construction, employment discrimination, civil rights, and criminal law, among others.
Mr. Butts is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was elected an Advocate by the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been listed in the publication Best Lawyers in America for twenty five consecutive years, including the current year. Mr. Butts has been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine and Law & Politics, Inc. as a Texas Super Lawyer in civil litigation every year since 2003, when this honor was inaugurated. He has been named a Corporate Counsel Super Lawyer in each year that directory has been published. He holds an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest available ranking in both legal ability and ethical standards.
